This line serves as a distraction to prevent those who do not want to know the outcome of Rock of Love 2 from finding out. An "unidentified source" with direct connections to the producers and Bret himself has come clean with the results. The season finale is between Kristy Joe and Peyton. The two had been fighting for the last 4 or 5 episodes, with Kristy Joe backstabbing Peyton multiple times. When Bret picks Kristy Joe, Peyton warns him that he will regret his decision and leaves crying. Kristy Joe then approaches Bret, and tells him that she is getting back together with her husband! There is no decision yet as to whether there will be a Rock of Love 3.
I found this answer while looking up previous questions to the Rock of Love 2 series. It makes sense to me. Much as I love Daisy and think she is perfect for Bret, I can see Kristy Joe going the whole way.
