It was "KidSongs" that used the "made by kids, for kids" tagline. It was created by Warner Bros. Records in 1983 for a VHS tape series and became a syndicated TV show in 1985. It was brought back in the 1990s with pretty much the same format you described (the 1985 version of the show was identical to the PBS series and ran until 1989 in limited areas).

Episodes of the show are now on DVD from a budget/$1 DVD outfit called Digiview Productions.

[BTW: those weren't computers...you saw TV control room equipment (cameras, videotape machinery--the professional 1" tape reels used at the time, switchboards, etc.) the kids would be seen operating as they were running a television station.]

Kids Incorporated?

was it "kids incorporated" on the disney channel?

The only one I can think of is Kids Incorporated. They made music videos and had concerts singing late 80s and early 90s popular songs.

It was my dream as a kid to be on that show.

MIckey Mouse club?

Was it the Mickey Mouse Club?
