No way! These are not even in the realm of possibility for my 7 year old. These shows are intended for an adult audience. The Simpsons and King of the Hill are also on my list of adult-audience cartoons that are unsuitable for children. Why anyone would consider this programming suitable for their children boggles me. *Shaking my head...*

Re: Additional Details

The game has an ESRB rating of M for mature humor, partial nudity, and violence. Definitely a red flag.

www.commonsensemedia.org calls it a "bawdy, flawed game based on the cult TV show."

"Parents need to know this game offers the same crude humor, inappropriate jokes, and crass comments that populate the adult TV show with a cult following, including jabs at various religions, people with disabilities, and inappropriate sexual remarks. Parents must be aware that while this game looks like a cartoon, it is full of risqué content that is inappropriate for children. There is cartoon violence and one character enters another character's body through the penis."

WOW! Sick minds!

Hell no...if you want your seven year old to be surrounded by cussing and sexual innuendo then you might as well just take them out for a night on the town. I don't even watch south park because i just find it so crude that its not funny. Family guy cracks me up but because of the general use of humour in the way they screen it. As a parent myself, I would not let a child of any age watch either of them. They don't teach values you want your child to possess so don't pump it into his head as normal.

NO WAY!!
south park and family guy have adult discussions and talk about things like $ex and such. NOT suitable for a seven year old. I dont even watch it and im 22

No. They depict violence, sexual acts and derive humour from foul language. All these I find most hilarious but I'm not 7 years old and still trying to find my way.

Good Luck.

NO THEY ARE NOT!!!!!!!! South Park swears really badly and has a lot of sexual reference in it. Family Guy has bad references and bad language in it too, its not as bad as South Park but still. both of them are rated PG-14 or whatever that sign is. a 7 year old should be watching PBS Kids and Disney Playhouse and all those shows that are made for like 3-8 year olds. why would you even CONSIDER letting your 7 year old watch Family Guy and South Park?!

No. The themes addressed are beyond the comprehension level of a seven-year-old, and the treatment of them is cynical in the extreme. A person who has only been around for seven years cannot be expected to "get" satire.

Besides, those shows stink. The graphics are ugly and the voices, especially on FG, are appalling.

No way! There is so much adult content in those shows. I would wait until they were at LEAST 13-14. Then they would actually get what they are talking about and hopefully have enough sense not to go repeating it in the teachers faces.

I think 7 is too young for those shows, particularly South Park. It is way more crude than Family Guy. Myself, I watch Family Guy, but I am 39 yrs. old and can understand what's going on. Whereas a 7 yr old may not completely comprehend it. Plus you child may pick up on the cuss words and start repeating them. I don't particularly agree with every joke or certain parts of Family Guy, but I do watch it. Because it makes me laugh, It's mainly an adult comedy. As for South Park, It started to get so bad that I stopped watching it.

I've never hear of the game "Family Guy" but I looked it up and found this website, that way you can see for yourself if you would want your child to play it:

I think that at 7, this type of material is unsuitable for them... Both shows have too much sexual content, and lude vocabulary....

Neither show should be considered.

unless you are prepared to answer a lot of questions that in my opinion should not be asked by a 7 year old. I allow my son to watch some Family Guy but only if we watch it together and I have already watched it and know that it is something that I feel that he is ready for or there are no sexual content that he does not already know about.

definitely not..... the language and adult humor is far too crude for children under the age of 15 Nicki Roy's wife

I would wait another 7 years, or untill you feel they are mature enough to handle the humor aspect of the show, I wasn't allowed to watch the Simpsons when I was a kid becuase my dad didn't like the humor nor would he allow me to use the phrase "this sucks" because of the show.

You sound as if you're getting a kick getting ppl all roused up about some stupid q which you know the answer to!!

I would not let my kid watch either of them. If I let my kid watch those shows I might as well tell him to go to a strip club to get hammered smoke a few joints and get laid and on the way home might as well kill some one for the money in there wallet.

Personally, I would not allow my children to watch either of them - especially South Park. I also wouldn't allow them to watch the Simpsons, but that's just me.

OK ask for a compromise (i personally think family guy is better then south park) only let him watch one. Now you still don't want him watching it, so i would recommend making a rule that you should be with him when you are watching it so if its at 6 and there's nothing on to watch let him watch an episode, now if its on at 8 and there is something better suited for his age group then recommend he watch that(don't recommend something like barney make sure you know what he likes :P just saying it happens) make some popcorn and watch with him, laugh and seem interested even if you are not. Soon enough he won't want to see it, if you flat out reject him he will want to see it. Usually this comes from friends and if he sees an episode now and then he will feel contempt. As for the video game if its rated mature well a 7 year old shouldn't be playing it, give him an age like when he turns16 he can play those games and when he turns 10 he can play teen games or something, explain by saying that the rating is there for a reason, and that your being nice because you could wait until he was 13 (an actual teen) to play the video games. sincerely a teen that hopes he can help

Family Guy is not as bad as South Park... but depending on the episode it is full of innuendos. South Park has gotten a bad rap... it is NOT for children because every episode is very adult content but for adults it makes valid point often times. i know it sounds crazy but i find their musing on religion very inventive and insightful.

for kids... no, neither of them. they need to be at least 15 before they are introduced, if that.
