There's no official word on the strike, so there's no way of knowing when it will end. WGA members have said today that the rumor about the strike ending this week is just that - a rumor. But if it happens, we'll probably get more episodes of shows that have short production times, primarily sitcoms. Some that just started, like Lost, may be able to get production up and running and catch up pretty quickly. Others with longer production periods, like Heroes, may just wait until fall.

We'll know more when the strike officially ends. That may still be weeks or months away. And don't forget the SAG contract comes up this spring, so they may end up on strike as well.

who cares. i haven't watched any 6pm to 9pm tv shows in about 2 years (3 if you add iraq deployment). it's nothing but idiotic reality crap anyhow. i see real life everyday, i don't want to see it on tv when it's actually nothing like real life.

I'm sure their will be some shows that will try to pump out new episodes ASAP. But all the major networks stick to their fall lineup. Why bring out new CSI, Housewive's or Hero episodes during the summer when most people aren't home? Say that the strike ends tomorrow, everyone still needs to get together and see what direction they want to take there show. Then scripts need to be written. It's to late for this spring.

According to TV Guide the 'established' ABC shows will come back with a few episodes to air in May, while the freshman shows that have been renewed will start their fall season early. I would assume the other networks will want to get some of their fan favorites (read big rating shows) on the air during sweeps in May. I would expect to see shows like Office and House come back for a few episodes. Apparently, because of the cost of production, it's not really worth it to restart unless they're going to make five or six episodes, but some may be tacked onto next year's season.
