Question: A lot of people argue that it isnt scripted but to me it is and plus isn’t it weird that they are on hiatus just like the ‘scripted’ TV shows? If I remember correctly, the last season didnt end right? They still have a Part 2 to air?

It is what is called "soft scripted" in the industry. There are key plot points the show wants to make so it will create situations and conversations to allow for that. If the "characters" are not hitting the points the story producers want, they will ask them to insert comments or sentences to help move the story along. The producers will also have them reshoot things that were missed that are important to the story.
Every time they are at a location - a restaurant etc, - it has to be cleared ahead of time which means that it's not an accident that the characters wind up there. The also prelight the locations so that we at home have a nice image to watch. They hide mics on the tables to ensure we don't miss audio.
Their jobs are completely set up by production. They do not work there unless they are being filmed. They cast dates for the girls.
Soft scripted essentially means taking real people and directing them through scenarios to achieve a story. What the characters actually say is around 70% really them and 30% them saying what the producers want or saying something they naturally said again because production missed it or it could have been said better.
its not completely scripted, but some is. the director makes suggestions on what they should say and do and most of the time they show only certain scenes so the audience can assume certain things.

Yeah they're supposed to air when Lauren and Whitney went to Paris but MTV hasn't announce when yet. Which is weird I agree why is it still on Hiatus if they already said they had eps hmmm? ^_^ DJ
I agree. If you go to wikipedia (I know its sketchy but it brings some valid points to the table) they discuss it at the end of the article. They make a lot of goofs that point to it being scripted/edited!
It's scripted. Some show busted them re-shooting shots of them leaving a club and they showed Heidi getting dropped off at an airport and then 10 minutes later running out (she changed clothes in the bathroom) and hugging Spencer as though she had just got back from a trip home. It's fake!!
