In Season One we are left wondering what's in the hatch. Walt is also kidnapped by the mysterious others.
In Season Two: Michael and Walt resurface and are sent off on a boat to find rescue for themselves. Also, Kate, Jack and Sawyer are kidnapped by the others.
Season Three: We have the flash forward of Kate and Jack which shows that they have been rescued at some point. Also, we see Charlie's death after he unjammed the signal. We also know that the people on the boat are not part of Penny's rescue mission.

I think those are the main ones.
Last season it was that a boat was coming to supposedly rescue them, and whether or not Charlie died. Before Charlie died he passed along the message that it was not Penny's boat, or not the saviors everyone on the island thought it was. Before that it was when the Others got Kate, Hurley, Jack, Sawyer and Michael and had them gagged on the pier, you didn't know if they were gonna die or not. Also Sawyer got shot on the boat when the Others took Walt.
first season: who are the others and whats in the hatch? what happens to walt?
second season: what happens to michael and walt to they get away? and what about kate,sawyer, and jack what do they want with them? whats the 4 toe statue? who is that calling penny?
season 3: who the frieghter people? will they be saved? charlie? and whats up with the flash foward with jack wanting to go back to the island and kate not really wanting to see jack? there u go
