Question: i'm confused... i record Dr. Phil on a daily plan... but he hasn't been coming on lately ... was it something about britany?

He is still on every day at 3 here. I believe he may be syndicated, so maybe your channel has chosen not to air him or moved him to a different time slot?
I know that my local NBC did that with Ellen. She use to come on early and now comes on at 11:30 after the local news, which is kinda weird. But they just started that in January.
Also starting in January they stopped showing Montel here. I can't find it sheduled at all.
I think he blew it with "Brittney" now public opinion has "fired" him.

I saw him on Letterman. I don't know if he got fired or not but he has been sick. He has lost a lot of weight.

after the whole britney thing, Oprah denounced him for being innapropriate, and I believe he is taking a break for an undertermined length of time because of that incident.
I don't watch him, but I saw a commercial for an all new episode today, so I think he's still on, unfortunately.
No Dr Phil didn't get fired; he's been on the View and other shows saying that Oprah is ok with him and him getting fired is just vicious rumors.
Dr. Phil was not fired. He shouldn't have talked to the Media after he saw Britney. He admitted that mistake. He's been very sick and maybe they temporarily replaced his show because he couldn't do new ones. But, he was not fired. Stay tuned, he'll be back.....unless your station maybe changed the time when his show is seen.
