Why has the simpsons gotten so retarded?!
Question: after season 6 it got bad, but had some hope of getting good again, then it got worse after season 8-10, and now it's dumber than ever. it used to smart and witty, now it's all dumb slapstick comedy.
-Homer wasn't such a wussy
-Bart used to be a Brat, not anymore
-Lisa wasn't a dumb hippie activist
-Maggie saved Homer from drowning, (REALLY STUPID)
-Marge has no funny moments like she used to
-Why'd they kill off Maud Flanders? you can't kill someone who's been there since the 1st season
-Why did they make Aunt Patty a damn lesbian?! she went out with Principal Skinner and she ended up liking him at the end which proves she isn't gay!
-Millhouse is in love with Lisa, um....he was in love with Samantha! how the hell did he end up liking Lisa? there was no explanation
-They had real celebrity guest stars like Danny DeVito, Michael Jackson, George Harrison, James Earl Jones, David Crosby, they wouldn't waste time with ppl who come and go like 50 Cent or Britney Spears.

I used to realy like the simpsons, i had them all on dvd all the way from season 1 too season 9 and then just before xmas season 10 come out and i got it for christmas. I'd read some reviews with people saying that it'd gone downhill, but i just ignored them.
But i had a right shock when i watch season 10, it realy has gotten very crap, i found myself BORED watching it, not laughing once.
Now onto your questions :
-Why'd they kill off Maud Flanders? According to something i read on wikepedia once, when i read about Maud. It said that no-one knows exactly why she was killed but some people think the woman doing her voice was demanding more money. But i agree i do think it was stupid that they killed her off.. because she left Ned and her kids behind.
-Why did they make Aunt Patty a damn lesbian?! - If you look through other episodes you'll notice that the show did hint she was a lesbian for instance Patty's sexuality was previously implied in an earlier episode when her voice emanated from an "in the closet" float at the Springfield Gay Pride Parade. Another hint occurred in "Treehouse of Horror III" where Patty sees Homer naked and remarks, "There goes the last lingering thread of my heterosexuality". However, Treehouse of Horror episodes are considered to be non-canon. In yet another episode, a snapshot of Patty exiting the infamous Springfield burlesque house, with only a small fraction of her face blacked out, was displayed during a town hall meeting. In the episode "Homer Simpson, This is Your Wife", Patty wooed a tenured professor of Yale University away from her husband. Also, in "Rome-old and Julie-eh", it is hinted that Patty may be attracted to Edna Krabappel. So yeah.. i didnt realy mind her being a lesbain, but i did think it was stupid when it was revealed her girlfriend was realy a man.. that annoyed me coz i wanted her to actually have someone.

So yeah i agree since about the end of series 9 simpsons got kinda crap.
simpsons is not as funny as it use to be, i think the simpsons movie killed th episodes

It worries me that a 19 year old knows so much about a show that he apparently doesn't like, also one like the Simpsons, that although can be enjoyed by all ages, worries me you know so much about it.
I think you need to remember that The Simpsons is only an animated television series, and the storylines are meant to be out there, and often won't make sense, the show wouldn't have the populairty it has if it was like a Soap Opera. If you watch any other animated series, there are also lots of things that don't make sense. I'm sure alot of people would say The Simpsons hasn't changed that much and that this style of "slapstick" and silly storylines are what makes it great. It's the longest running animated television show and still one of the most popular shows on television, they must be doing something right.
EDIT: it worries me further that a 19 year old has nothing better to do with his time than complain about cartoons and read about them on wikipedia.
It has been on too long- there is no more funny material- time for that show to go off the air- even though it is better compared to Family guy in MY opinion
well after almost 20 years fresh ideas get harder to come by for a weekly show maybe they should start spotlighting other people for a year or so to give the show fresh legs and maude chose to be killed off because her voice actor tired of traveling to do the show or something like that

1. It's an animated t.v show. It doesn't really make that much sense.
2. It's the longest running animated t.v show.
3. Why don't you try to make a t.v show.
