Do people who appear on reality shows work for a living or are they all unemploy!
Question: They cannot possibly have jobs as no-one would get the time off would they? I was asked to go on This MOrning once...3 days in advance and it would be a 2 day thing. It was useless as I'd never get time off work at such short notice.

I think it depends, alot of them have rubbish jobs and want to try and make money, and some are just lazy. like x factor is kind of reality t.v. and they are always on about how crap there job is and how this is there only chance yadda yadda and stuff lol.
I don't think you can generalise!
With the time they spend drinking,taking drugs and having sex I doubt if they have any time for work. Similar to the characters in Shameless.
On BB most of them are students at University taking a gap year for reality shows and a lot of them do some also think that giving up their job is worth the risk of five minutes of fame.
I think some are out of work filling in gap but due to the way after such shows go on air the possibility of becoming famous for five mins outways any job.
I don't know about all shows, but I had read that MTV pays each person $5,000.00 per day.
So if a person can last for a week, that's a year's salary for a lot of people.
And if you work in a dead end job, get the call that you've been selected as a participant, then go for it.
Even if you only last 2 or 3 days, you'll have plenty of money to sit on while finding a job.
