How do the real world/road rules cast members make money between challenges?!
Question: We've been trying to figure this out and I thought someone here would have some insight. I'd like to think that they're on MTV's payroll and the challenge money is a bonus, because it would suck to have to wait for challenges for a chance to get a big pay check.

They work seasonal jobs or regular jobs, then they either quit their job to go on the challenges or they take a leave of absence. I saw one of the girls from Road Rules selling vitamins at a kiosk in the mall, just like a normal person. I have met a lot of the cast members and most of them work odd jobs or are trying to get into acting or something. Some live at home with parents and some are in school and take the semester off...etc.
oh no they get money from mtv at the end of the whole thing period but they do make money for each thing they win but they need to win now its been awhile since i watched that but as far as i know if they dont win they get paid and there stuck
