LOST: thoughts on new season? (season 4 premiere)?!
Question: Hi there everyone. i'm pretty much obsessed with Lost, and i was wondering what you all thought about the season premiere last night (thursday, jan 31). did you like it? dislike it? have any idea who these new others are? are they gonna get rescued? i doubt it.... :)

Last night's season opener was very clever. From the end of season 3, the question of whether they would make it off the island was answered. Also, by this time, all the main characters have more than enough back story.
So instead, look at their lives ahead, and ask questions about "what happened." And while 6 from the crash apparently made it home, plenty indicates some chose to stay. Who stayed, who didn't, who lived, and who was in the coffin?
I like it, but with reservations. Anyone remember that flop show "The 9"? It had a similar premise to what LOST is doing now, and it started off very promising. But in order to milk it, the writers had to stay excessively vague, especially with dialogue, to avoid giving too much away. It made the show bland, and boring.
So long as LOST doesn't fall into that trap, I think the new direction is fresh breath just when the show needed it most.
I am obsessed also. All I can say is WOW. AMAZING.
OCEANIC SIX?
WTF?!
Yeah....obviously the Oceanic Six are:
1.Hurley
2. Jack
3. Kate
Who's the other 3?
4. Ghost of Charlie? Unlikely that counts.
5. Whoever was in the coffin? Sawyer, Locke, or Linus.
6. But I hope Desmond is one of the 6. He and Mr.Echo were the coolest bad-asses. He deserves it.

yeah I don't understand the oceanic 6 thing and it makes me sad that jack is so unhappy after I can't wait till Thursday
all i can say is why the heck did they kill off charlie he and claire were my fav characters/couple. i was hopingggg they were going to find some way to save him

basically ive decided that im not really sure about anything anymore, i cant wait til the finale when i actually find out how all the pieces fit together
I live in Australia and have not seen it, have no idea what it is about, i think it comes out next week. All i can say is that lost has really gone downhill and should have been off air half way through the season two. It really needs to up its game. Hope this season does just that.
i dont think i really like how its now showing the flash FORWARDS instead of the flash BACKS and i cant believe they killed charlie!!! poor claire.
they have dragged it out too long i am starting to hate the show now
I liked it, although I agree it wasn't a classic.
We know six get 'rescued', and Hurley is "one of the Oceanic Six", along with Jack and Kate, and three other survivors...
