Question: Yesterday January 31 2008 ABC had "All that and More" on. There was a part on people with blue eyes have something in common. I missed it. Could you tell me what we have in common?

i read it somewhere that idk how many years ago, no one had blue eyes. then a mutation caused this guy to have blue eyes. that was the only person in the planet who had blue eyes. so that means that everyone that has blue eyes is related to that person.

A team of scientists has tracked down a genetic mutation that leads to blue eyes. The mutation occurred between 6,000 and 10,000 years ago, so before then, there were no blue eyes.
Apparently, we all started out with brown eyes and with the new advances in genetic research, they found this:
"A genetic mutation affecting the OCA2 gene in our chromosomes resulted in the creation of a 'switch,' which literally 'turned off' the ability to produce brown eyes," Eiberg said.
"The question really is, 'Why did we go from having nobody on Earth with blue eyes 10,000 years ago to having 20 or 40 percent of Europeans having blue eyes now?" Hawks said. "This gene does something good for people. It makes them have more kids."
