When the wga strike ends, will the writers continue their unfinished businesses?!

Question: I mean, after the strike is ceased and everything's settled, will the writers still write scripts for the shows they left? Gossip Girl for example, all episodes that were finished are already aired. Will there be a next episode when the strike ends?

The networks will have to evaluate their schedules.

The current rumor around Hollywood is that if the strike isn't resolved by the middle of February there won't be any new episodes this season. So it's unlikely that Gossip Girl will return with new episodes this spring, even though they got a "full season order." But never say never, they may have a huge hole in their schedule that they must-must fill and GG may be the best fit.

Some of the midseason shows that were supposed to premiere might not be produced at all and still others will become summer series or shelved until next year.

The networks are using this as an opportunity to re-evalutate the whole way they make new series (dumping the pilot season for just greenlighting shows without a test show) which may mean that when a new show comes on the air, they'll be more committed to making it work.

Assuming the strike ends in time then the writers will go back to work and prepare for the fall season. If it ends soon then there may be time to get new episodes of some sitcoms written and filmed for this season, so that's a possibility as well. Most dramas are probably done until fall.
