Does anyone understand "Lost"? I have never missed an episode, but I&#!

Question: Well, the point of the show IS to be confusing. That's what gets you tuning in the next week to watch it again. You tune in hoping to get clues and answers to what's going on.
If they told you exactly what was going on and where they were and what the island was, then the show would be very bland and have no suspense. The fact that they confuse the hell out of people is what gets people talking about it. How many long theoretical discussions do you think people have about "Dancing with the Stars" or "American Idol"?
The converstaions probably go as far as this:
"So who you think will win?"
"Oh, I like the guy with the dark black hair"
"Yeah, I like them too. But don't like that tall girl. She's mean"
"Yeah."

It annoys me when I hear people say, "oh, LOST is too confusing. It doesn't make sense. I have no idea what's going on. So I don't watch it".
That's the gimmick. That why people watch it...so you understand what's going on.
But for people who are simple minded and like actual endings to the story in 1 hour or less, that's what they have sitcoms for.

So don't worry....you're not the only one. No one knows whats going on. And everytime you think you have the answer, someone new comes up to throw you off! :)

I have missed quiet a few episodes and lost it completely, at the start I first thought they were all dead and they didnt realise it and thats what the twist was, guess I was wrong..

Sometimes with tv shows the writers lose the plot I think.

The point of the show is to keep you wondering what in the world is going on, but as far as understanding it -- you can to an extent, but that's what makes it soooo good! =) You have to admit, you will probably tune in next week to get some more clues, and more confused! lol

The only thing that really confused me was when Hurley told Jack he wishes he wouldn't haev gone with Locke.. Weird to me because I thought Locke had to right idea the whole time.. We will find out.... maybe........ ;)

I also have been watching lost from the beginning. My daughter and I were discussing it this morning and we agreed that it was confusing even for regular viewers. I have a feeling if they continue in this vein, they will lose viewership and the show will go down. I would hate to see that happen. I think they have to do away with the stupid flashes. When they throw in so many of them they start to feel like commercials (annoying disruptions just when you're getting interested) and then when you go back you have to remember where you were. It felt as if they someone were rewinding and fast forwarding while I was trying to watch the show. I could understand before that the flashbacks got you to understand the characters past. But this new reason for using them is very distracting.

I "Lost" interest after the first few episodes of the first season because it just got WAY too silly and ridiculous for me.

I love this show...it keeps you quessing after every episode...it's storyline makes you think, makes you talk and question, I think they want us to be lost so we tune in next week for the answers to our questions...only problem is, each episode brings up more questions than answers!!! so refreshing, a change from all those silly family-life cookie cutter sitcoms on TV...

Lost lost me as a viewer last year when we had to wait so long for new episodes... I would forget what happened and it was hard to keep up with. I did tune in last night for a brief moment and of course was totally lost! I'd like to see how the show ends but something tells me it's going to be rather complicated and will leave a lot of people confused.

yes, as the show goes on, the more mixed up it is.
