the 3rd season is going to have 13 episodes because of the writer strike!!!
the fourth season isn't confirmed yet but I guess the chances are good to see a fourth season because dominic purcell said in an interview that he looks forward to the next shootings and he said it after the shooting of the 13th episode of season 3 and so I guess he means the 4th episode!? And I really hope so...
It's always a question of ratings and money available. Never any pre-planned end number of seasons. More seasons more residuals.

They have 3 season, Prison Break has 3 episodes left, ITS COMING TO AN END!!! IM DEVASTATED. I WISH THEY HAD A SEASON 4.
