Still not.

Most of the things they do are pre-written. It is partially things they would do, but just spiced up by a director of some sort. I think that truly, the only kind of reality show is COPS.

Back on subject, nothing you see on MTV, such as "Roomraiders," "Real World," or "X effect" are all written out to make it a lot more interesting to more people. Which throws the reality thing out the window.

nope, but reality is perception as some would argue

I like to think of them as "staged reality". Some of the events are planned in advance, so it is not truly spontaneous reality.

Well you just answered your own question.

Reality T.V. is far from being reality, a lot of the material is scripted and the producers also alter and modify (edit) a lot of the actual footage.

it's only "somewhat" reality. the pick the ppl based on their personalities and how likely they are to either fall in love, or hate eachother, both of which tend to end in really heated scenes. they are probably not likely to get a bunch of ppl that would like nothing better to do than sit around and play video games or answer ppls questions online like i do, haha :P. Then they put them in situations that will provoke those feelings.

Some of them, shows like Room Raiders or Date My Mom are "real" in the sense they use the general public and aren't scripted. However, they are staged to a point and heavily edited to make it a whole lot more interesting than it really is.

Stuff like The Hills is clearly scripted, they have multi shot scenes that would be impossible to capture without shooting the same scene from different angles - therefore it is impossible that the reactions of the people in the "reality show" are real.

come on man. Just look at MTV's lame *** reality shows. They should really change their name.

Im seeing less and less music from "music television"
