Question: Three months ago, I sent in an application for a televised makeover for my homely teacher. She dresses like she's in World War I and she had crazy hair. I was contacted by the TODAY show producers and they said she won a spot on the show!
I nominated her as a joke....how do I break it to her that I did this and she won??

do something cute. like get a nice card and get the whole class to sign it and give it to her with flowers or something and make it seem like a really exciting thing. she's not gonna get mad at u in front of everyone when you're all being positive about it

Make it sound like you are her friend and that you are doing her a favor. Just tell her that she gets a free trip and a paid vacation. She can't get mad at that. Plus, she's ugly right? Ugly people don't have anything to get offended about!
Just tell her but tell her in a nice way ...that you saw this segment on TV where if you knew someone who could use a new look to send it in and you thought she might want a new look and that you won ~ She really might be happy ..I know most women would be thrilled to get a makeover by professional stylist ...... Its a good thing you did even though you did it as a joke it turned out good and it really might just be a very positive experience for your teacher that she really may have needed inside as well as outside ....

Tell her that you nominated her because you thought she might enjoy updating her look. She'll probably be thrilled. And you might get an A.
Don't tell her it was a joke. Teachers are every bit as human as you are and can get their feelings hurt just like everyone else.

it's better than offending her i think? i dunno, flattering her might be kinder than being bluntly open!

It might take some one else for her to see herself in a new style. Sometimes something start as a joke and turns into a good idea but then it can go the other way.
ARE they go at their job of make overs If you are please with what they do I would just smile and say Congregational on winning. And if she ask why just say you where having a bit of a joke for fun.
ask today show to write a note..... place it on your teachers desk.......
Why do you need to tell her? Let her be happy. You'll gain nothing but hurting her.
Just leave off the ugly part and tell her you won her a make-over, I am sure she'll be thrilled!
First, tell you principal or school administrator. Ask for their help in breaking the news. They will know her better personally and can help develop the best way to approach the situation.
I watch the Today show and will be looking for the segment!
For your sake, I hope she appreciates your efforts.
