The Family Guy question...?!
Question: This is confusing. According to others, the only person that can understand Stew is the dog, right? Well, I was watching an episode the other day when the daughter was having a sleep over and Stew was giving advice to the girls and they were responding back to him. ??? Was that an oops?

Stewie and the Brian can talk and understand each other. Everybody else only hear baby talk.
I don't think the producers really think about it, because it varies a lot episode by episode. Sometimes it seems they all understand him.

Ppl can understand sorta what stewie is saying.
I mean when he says, "DIE YOU FOUL WOMEN" to his mom she probally hears, "you bad ga ga" so she responds with, "Now honey thats not polite".

it is true that only brian can ear stewie but ina couple of episodes there has been some messups!?!
The productors raised this question in one of their episodes. No one really know who can hear or not hear Stewie, besides Brian for sure. Other then that it's not important to the storyline.
Not really...since Stewie is almost three YO, and EVERYBODY understands what Brian(the drunk family dog) is saying...but Lois is as usual the DUMB one in the family(but not as dumb as Peter!)!
I'm surprised that when "Family Guy" was first created, Debra Jo Rupp(the mom on "That 70's Show") wasn't picked to play Lois...she has such a great voice!
Sometimes people can understand him and sometimes they can't. Like Lois his mother. If he says something like damn u vial woman, she'll take it in a nicer version. And yes Brian is the only one that always understands whatever he says. People always ask that question.

they understand him because one show they are trapped in some kind of water thing and peter is talking about how he doesn't like some movie i think the god father and stewie says you haven't even given it a chance and chris says stewie's right you need to give the movie a chance. i think they just usually ignore when he talks. remember when he throws the meat a megs face they understand him in that one too.
