Question: Ok, So I have just recently started recording Cheers, never realized it was such a funny show. Plus, its a little old for me to watch when it was on. Anyways, I record it from 2 different channels, and they are at 2 different parts of the series. I was just wondering how Ted Danson lost the bar to Kirstie Alley??

After Dianne Chambers left, Sam sold the bar to Robin Colcord's corporation. Rebecca was an ambitious corporate lackey who became the manager of Cheers, and when Sam returned after wrecking his boat on an ill-fated world cruise, she hired him as a bartender.
Didn't lose it to Kirstie. He sold out to some bigwig (Robin Colcord) and Kirstie just manages it, or tries to anyway.
I believe he sold the bar and bought a yacht the yacht sank.
I think that is how it happened so he went back and took a job in the bar.
Kirstie is the snootie corporate manager who manages the bar.
He sold it before he left to sail around the world. He came back after his boat sank.
he sold out so he could retire and then he had to comeback. kirstie alley works for some big wig robin who owns the bar.
