I think he would have been coming back next season but since they going to cancel the show after this season we will never really find out what happens which is super sad.

He left PCA to be with zoey and zoey left London to be with chase. He begged his parents to let him go to London and is not allowed to be transfered back to PCA until the first semester ends

I thought that was a terrible idea btw. They could have come up with a better exscuse for his departure of the show. He's just angry because Jamie's pregnant and he wanted to be the one to reproduce her.
