The past few seasons have been rubbish, only a handful of winners went on to produce good music. Even Simon appears to be losing his touch; one can only think of so many clever comments.

Yes, I have to agree! Even thio I have always been a fan of the show, I think that if it doesn't pick up this season, it probably won't go another season!
For me, it's getting a little old. I'll give it another chance when they get to the top 12. I would like to see them focus more on the good singers than the bad in the beginning. I know that showing the bad singers brings in ratings, but come on! I think
that it is easier for the good singers who we see audition and have a backstory told about them in the beginning have an easier chance of getting people to vote for them later on in the competition. Why not even the playing field and show more of the good auditions? The network will milk this show until no one watches it. It gets good ratings, so it's not going anywhere soon.
I think it gets annoying like the 50 weeks of auditions whatching people who suck. I would rather see the good people going through. Also i hate the bad people who keep going through because stupid people vote for the like sanjia. Its not fiar that the good people go like chris who should of won the one year. i think they need to change it. but i like it to much to get rid if it.
maybe they should just wait a few years for real talent to arise...it would just feel soo weird without an american idol
No do not say that I need it to last just one more year so my friend will get to audition lol really she really has been waiting for it and next year she will be 16 and able she can sing and get noticed and then you can say American Idol is old lol
Absolutly not!! They had over 10000 people at each auditon and the top Idols Carrie and Kelly are still going strong!! If you are tired of it why don't you just quit watching??

look at the size of people who attended the audition. That doesn't seems like "worn out its welcome" to me.
reality tv shows runs on their audience supports. Unlike normal TV show where they can keep making it even if no ones watching it. For AI to be possible, you need people to attend the audition, people to vote for them, and all of this is still happening. The demand is still there.
And forgive me for saying this, but it is very self centered for a person to say that just because he/she finds it boring, the show should end. What about the other millions of people who are still interested in it?
Others still enjoy it so let them do so. There's lots of other TV show to watch for those who dislike AI.
Not trying to be rude here, but this applies to every other reality TV show. There are many show I dislike but I am not forced to watch it if I dislike it. So I don't say a certain show should quit cause its getting boring.
