Watching that show makes me and my family seem sooooo normal.
Its stupid. All the do is take their clothes off and wave their junk around and cuss each other out.
I certainly don't know where they find some of those characters to be put on that show to be made fun of.
people want to see other people who are willing to humiliate themselves.

I live in the UK and quite enjoy watching jerry springer! i used to think the jeremy kyle show was a bit over the top but jerry springer is truly something else! i DON'T understand why they have to take their clothes off though...but it's still funny to watch.
I hadn't seen it for ages till a week ago and I put it on for a few minutes just as I was passing the station. I always thought it was a stupid show but it seems to have deteriorated even more. It resembles a circus side show now with the regulars they have on there. No disrespect to the fellow missing his lower body - I have seen people with that condition before. But then we have the mime guy - what does that have to do with a talk show. I think I'll just keep on passing the station.

I really think that it's a sad world that we live in when shows like Jerry Springer are touted as "entertainment." It's even sadder to think that this man was the Mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio. I know that this is a "free" country and people can watch whatever they want, but it's because they want to watch things like this that TV has fallen into the dark bowels of reality TV Hell. I swear I can feel brain cells dying every time I merely click through channels and have to click past the show. I think the world would be better off if we went back to just having things like "The National Enquirer" at least then having to read it could act as a buffer against the pretentious smut erasing our intelligence.

I mean it has it's good points.. Some people are truly set to entertain and perhaps get some resolution, but you've got to hate it when people set out to shock and humiliate people on the air.. and all too many guests do that in a truly cruel way.
At the same time, these qualities make it a form of reality show.
What happens though, is that people get the big dysfunctional picture more than anything.
I think that the media has to stifle more of the nasty asse types.
