The Simpsons Notice?!

Question: Is it just me or has Bart,Lisa & Maggie been the same age & size and in the same grade for the past 17, 18 years?Shouldn't they be about 17,or 18 I mean all of them? I must be crazy for noticing this.Am i the only one?

I was just thinking about this when I was watching The Simpsons the other day. So I looked it up online. I found out that Marge became pregnant with Bart in 1981, making him 26 or 27 now. She became pregnant with Lisa in 1983, making her 24 or 25 and she became pregnant with Maggie sometime in the late 1980's, making her a teen now, but they don't give an exact date. Homer was born on May 12, 1956 making him 52 this year and I assume Marge is the same age or slightly younger. Very different than they are portrayed on the tv show!

This just in!:
Cartoon characters do not age.

In most cases of cartoons, characters do not age.

They have birthdays, but never to the point where you will notice any aging in them.

It's a way of connecting with old and new fans. That way, you can jump on at any point, and just enjoy the show for what it is, a funny cartoon family, that is quite dysfunctional.

Hope this helps.

I also notice that the other day.
It would be cool if they were older.

No, you're not crazy. On the other hand with me, I've always wondered why cartoon characters don't change their clothes everyday like real people, now am I crazy for wondering that. They only change their clothes for special occassions. Weird, huh??!!
