Lauren Conrad's job?!
Question: I know she is an intern, so is the show paying for her to live or are they actually paying her for being an intern? i know it might sound not so smart *teehee* but i was just wondering!

everyone else pretty much answered your question pretty good , but i did want to add that Lauren dosn't get paid for working at teen vouge, she said on the after show season fanale that she works for free, Whitney however does get paid because she was promoted from an intern to Lauren's boss.
the show is scripted. she's an actress.
Both Lauren and Whitney both left their positions at Teen Vogue recently (in the last month).
With Lauren having a budding fashion line (she will have a show in LA's Fashion Week in the Fall), she had probably outgrown the usefulness of the internship. She was quick to say that she was not fired, but I did hear that Teen Vogue was really not interested in being part of the show any more. It was probably a mutual parting of the ways.

Lauren is paid by MTV for being on the show. She also makes appearance fees for certain parties she attends, and with the sale of her clothing online, she probably has a bit of money. She also just purchased a small house, so they will be filming there rather than at the apartment complex she has been living at.
I'm sure her and Whitney both make some sort of money at Teen Vogue. I'm sure it's not as much as MTV pays them to be on the show! I did read that Lauren will not be at Teen Vogue next season. I guess she is taking a job at a production office. And Whitney has supposedly been offered a job at W magazine. I read a while ago that the producers don't want Whitney on the show anymore because they think she is too boring. Maybe this would be their way of getting Whitney out the door- by giving Laurena job somewhere else.
