Question: is that camera man obvious to those criminals on TV? or is that a hidden camera on another policeman, or how does the camera work, criminals never seem to say or notice "the camera"

I wonder how they run so fast LOL!

They are cameramen. Sometimes on those episodes the people look right at the camera and say something. Or they tell the camera to go away. Also you can sometimes see the huge shadow of the camera or see it in reflections.

EDIT: just a little info I found
"COPS is broadcast by Fox and follows the activities of police officers by embedding camera crews with police units"

yea those are camera men...i have been watching cops since i was 3 and im now 21...hehe

Humm good question. I think they have to be in another car it would make sense but then again how does he get the taping of the police talking! Maybe he jumps into another car when the catch the criminal lol!

The camera is not hidden unless it is a sting operation. There are many episodes where the criminal has actually lashed out, lunged and spit at the camera man.
For the most part, the criminals seem oblivious to the camera because they are either pumped up full of alcohol, drugs, and adrenaline, or they just don't give a crap at the moment. Some of them don't want anymore trouble than they are already in so they just want to ignore the camera and get it over with.
But like I said, sometimes the situation they are in blinds them to the fact they are on TV.
