Monica's character is incredibly underused. I don't think she is going to go around talking to the dead (they have enough of that), but it will be revealed that her behavior is due to her excessive drinking.
Monica messed up Luke's surgery because she saw Emily...did she see Emily yesterday? if she did then I didn't catch it. Spoilers say Monica deals with her grief in a dangerous way.....she is going to start drinking and hallucinate Emily maybe?
I read something months ago that said they had something planned for her around her and Alan's anniversary but so far nothing. She is turning into an alcoholic though so maybe she will hallucinate him. That is getting old though with everyone seeing the dead, if anyone should have seen Alan in the beginning it should have been Monica.
I guess they have to come up with some sort of story for the characters, and situations have to be reused, but some of them are getting old pretty quick.
They need to have a little diversity.
I doubt it. She is just an alcoholic. Perhaps when Jason tells her about Jake and then finally claims his son she will get help. Having a new grand baby might be enough incentive to quit drinking.
