Who found torchwood a little bit disappointing?!

Question: I really enjoyed it actually, and I thought it stood up well alongside the best episodes from the last series.

Very interesting to find out some stuff about Captain Jack's history as a renegade time agent/con man before he met the Doctor in "The Empty Child".

It was also interesting that Captain John assumed he knew a lot more about Jack that the Torchwood team, not realising that there's an awful lot he doesn't know about Jack himself (i.e. Jacks adventures with the Doctor, Rose/Bad Wolf making him immortal, the hundred years or more between Jack getting back to Earth and joining Torchwood, e.t.c).

Apart from the back story elements, I thought it was also a cracking good action-adventure episode, albeit with a fairly thin plot. Also great to see the members of Torchwood actually gelling as a team, rather than having their own individual agendas, as was more often than not the case in the last series.

I was also pleased to see that they've toned down the gratuitous bad language a bit, which tended to detract from the story lines in the last series.

So all in all a pretty good and very enjoyable introduction to the new series in my view, and from the look of the series trailer at the end it's going to get better as it goes on.

I found it rather good.

i think it was ok with more secrets coming out for jack just hurry and tell us ,poor owen he's been hurt so many times yet still able to carry on what a trooper lol.
gwen in hostage situation prepared to put herself in rift doesnt say tell rhys but tell jack more of that to probably come of course last series she was into owen lol

Quite good actually - too much male kissing though.

could have been better, a driving blowfish who thought of that? and how many takes did they do to stop the actress that plays Gwen cooper from laughing when she asked the old lady if she saw the blowfish?.

I thought it was good, seemed to be more humour than the last series, or am I just going soft in the head?

I really like the basic plot and idea of Torchwood. Some plotlines in the first series were good and others were crap. It's to be expected of any new series. If Torchwood has any real pulling power really depends on how well scripted, acted. edited and presented the second series onwards is.

noooo - i missed it watching you lot

Hmm it was ok.

Lots of fun but they keep letting the bad guy talk on and on and on instead of just shooting him (both the blowfish and John).

It wasnt disapointing, but there is far to much in the way of relationships, everybody fancies someone who fancies someone else all that rubbish, its going to end up like the rubbish soaps on BBC1 and ITV

I enjoy it and can't wait for the next season.

Darn!!!!!! missed it. Give it chance, The first episode of a long-awaited new series can often be disappointing. Ask me again when I catch up.

nope it thought it was really good.A car chase, Blur on the soundtrack, Spike from Buffy, some more details & info on Jack's past, some new info on Gwen ,Toshiko.More than enough to make a solid season 2 opening episode.

It was really good Captain Jack is so nice

It started off a bit slow and it gained speed halfway into the episode at lest 25 mins in.

i did
