It looks like a student adaptation of the original, especially Tims character (half the comedy in his character is based on his facial expressions, which the US guy doesn't seem to even attempt to try, instead just bleating out the same lines without any realism.)
I guess the UK one was too dry for the American audience... Again.
Watch the original UK version, its 100 times better
I saw one episode - it was a mere shadow of the real thing.
The same thing happened with Cracker.
Keep watching if you have it on DVD. It has a life of it's own and can be very funny in spots. The episode where Dwight get a concusion is freaking halarius!
