I could be mistaken, but I believe there is a reference to a U.S.S. Archer in Star Trek: Nemesis. That's the only instance I can think of.
Nope, none. It's a little different compared to, say, the Star Wars franchise because George Lucas had all six movies mapped out before he made Episode IV. I'm sure Archer would be mentioned in the new Star Trek movie coming up.
Well, aside from the names, I thought they did a pretty good job of writing the events of what lead up to the Kirk days all the way up to Voyager.
