How much do they make? More than you and me combined. probably. How much do they want? More, the greedy sons of %&*$%S.

Writers currently make a small percentage of the revenue generated by the shows they write.

They want a tiny share of the revenues generated by online advertising when their work is put online. Currently, the TV studios take all of the online revenue.

$6 Million Dollars and $ 15 Million Dollars.

There's no set amount for how much writers make . . . it depends on their experience level and what they're working on. Many writers do make a lot less than other professions, and there are also writers who make a ton of money-- it's really a pretty big range.
And, from what I understand at least, the strike isn't really about wanting more money, it's about wanting money from new media. If a show airs in reruns or in syndication (like on cable), the writers get a residual for that. If you go on to a network's website and watch a TV show there, the writers get nothing. That's what they really want from this strike-- a residual for shows that are available on the internet. They don't think it's fair for the network to get all of the revenue from having the show available on their website.
