Why wasn't a new Desperate Houswives on last night?!?!

Question: why would it be off for a couple weeks, show a new one last Sunday, and then not show one last night? Were they taking another break? Did they move it to another day? What happend?

writer's strike

There is a writer's strike going on. It's affecting alot of shows.

writer's strike! didn't you hear?

writers strike

it probably has something to do with the writers strike.....

The writers' strike.

Might have to do with this writers' strike?

Because of the writer's strike, they had no more scripts to film, so the series is done for the season. They stretched the ones they did have as long as they cound in the hope that the strick would end. It has not.

When "Lost" returns at the end of the month, it will only be for eight episodes.

You were lucky. Hope it's discontinued.

writers are on strike so no new shows

No its because of those whiney writers guild people. They have ruined life for the people who enjoy watching TV all because they are greedy and want money for the episodes that are aired online.

because they finaly disided to get rid of it. YES

I, too, am going through severe withdrawls!!!!

mostly due to the writers strike until they not on strike they will do reruns or such or not show it at all lots of shows are that way sorry

writer's strike

Due to the WGA(Writers Guild of America) strike the networks are trying to parse out their new programming. For example, they mights show two new episodes in a row for the regular viewers of the show, then the following week show a higher rated episode to try to get new viewers who are cruising through the channels.

With the writers' strike, most shows took a break early before the holiday season and are very, very slowly doling out the remaining episodes that they have scripts for since they don't know how long they'll have to make them last.

Until some resolution looks likely, I think most non-reality shows are going to be alternating reruns/other things with new shows.

I had read that they had already shot most of last week's episode prior to the writer's strike. Eva Longoria even took a lot of grief because she crossed the picket line to go to work. Later she tried to bring the writers some pizza as an offering. By bringing it back for one week, they got our hopes up that there would be more. I hope they just come to a fair agreement - I miss my shows.

The writer's strike has started to dry out a lot of shows. All of the filmed episodes have been shown and there are no more scripts left to shoot. Many shows have had their seasons ended prematurely, including Desperate Housewives, Private Practice, Grey's Anatomy, Gossip Girl, and Weeds.

I think it was because there was a special Extreme Home Makeover on. I was bummed too! I look forward to Desperate Housewives while the house is quiet!

the desperate houswives was put on halt as the writers are on strike.

Desperate Housewives is out of new episodes due to the strike. Grey's Anatomy played their last as well. You can check this site to see how many episodes are left of all your shows:

It wasn't on last night because they are out of episodes. The writers are on strike!

It's because of the writer's strike. They do not have any new episodes left for the season, so it won't be on for a while, depending on how long the strike lasts.

They all take breaks. Try next week.
