Are you from the East End and do you get annoyed with Eastenders?!
Question: I worked up North and convinced my colleagues that no one in the East End owns their own washing machine, that if you want a cup of tea, you have to get it from a cafe, that all Eastenders live with at least 6 of their extended family in a massive house close to a tube station where there are no parking restrictions and you always marry someone you have met in the local pub and organise a wedding in 3 weeks and have the reception in the pub you met in..... Any you would like to share?

I am from Yorkshire, so don't get me started.....everyone thinks we live on farms in a Yorkshire dale and are as thick as the Dingles.
Don't bother with any of them, they're all cr*p...
Eastenders, Emmerdale, Coronation St, Neighbours etc...
Although, they're good if you're tired and can't sleep, they'll soon put you out.

the one that gets me about eastenders is, they all have mobiles, but no one ever goes far enough away from the square that they cant actually not see each other! lol
Its nothing like that in the East End and I dont know why they have always portrayed it in that way. I couldnt tell you where the nearest launderette is and I know of no one who has extended family living with them. As for everyone holding their wedding receptions and every other celebration in the local pub,thats rubbish. Maybe the odd birthday party but thats it. And Billy Mitchell would have no trouble getting a job as a labourer on a building site,nor would Jase.
Lol, you are so right.... Is it not also true that there are no jobs there? and the people who do have jobs spend all day in the square??? I want to live there!!!

No, but i know a lot of people from the east end, and I've never met any one from there, as stupid as this lot of actors portray them.

yes i live in the east end and i get annoyed at eastenders about how everything is so unreal there !
no one washes their clothes at home, everyone works ON THE SQUARE - very few ppl actually go out of the square to work - any date / meeting has to take place at the argee bhajee or cafe or the pub IN THE SQUARE - they do not go to other restaurants - every christmas someone dies - no one messes with the pub landlord - and people's relatives and later their families just turn up to live with them - and then settle down. ... EVERY single bloody party is in the vic....
ooh, and by the way if you looked out of your window on albert square, you would almost ALWAYS discover a scandel / someone snogging someone they shouldnt or someone glaring or fighting... nice !
phew none of that happens where i live, most of us go and work in or around the city, we do have dates and meetings elsewhere and we THANKFULLY all have washing machines... hehe
also, when buying a house, it all goes through within days, nobody ever goes to work unless its actually in Albert Square, they only ever go to the Queen Vic or Ronnies club, The nightclub opens about 4pm (often when there is a club scene it will be daylight outside).
When there is a wedding, only residents of Albert Square attend, never any relatives from any where else! I could go on, but I would be here all day! lol I do actually love the show though!
