wow... It's so hard to live in the world and not become part of it. I remember wishing I could put my oldest son in a closet when he was 13 and keep hime there until he turned 21! How do we shelter these kids..how do we teach them proper actions and the consequences of improper ones. Parenting is sooooooo much of a full time job, and with more and more mothers pulled in 60 directions...it's a crazy world.
I think that tv shows that are based on a moral code that is different that the one you try to teach in your home...should be off base for an 8 year old. It's so much easier to just not pay any attention to what are kids are watching or doing. Parents justify letting kids do their own thing..make their own choices...as though that's the best for everyone. It's not the best for anyone. You can't just say to a child...go be busy doing something that I approve of. It just doesn't work. Even for a 2 year old and especially for a 16 year old. You little girl is in the middle... some parents do away with tv and computers in their home. Honest they do!! It works well for some and not so good for others...the bottom line is..parents that spend time with their kids..who are involved with them and are just THERE...at least when they can be. Parenting is the most difficult job there is. There's no guide book...there's no class to take..it's hit and miss. I think most of the time we are guided by a little voice that says what we should do...it's hard to do the right thing, because it is almost always the hard thing..Do what your mom would have done...??? or think about what you think she should have done..??? sometimes seeing yourself as a child can be interesting. Good luck..I'll bet you're a great mom!

I probably would. At least the show doesn't show degraded womyn dancing on men in bikini's. Haha, but really, the show is silly, and she might just watch it when you aren't around or something. If she asks you a question about it, just make your best judgment in answering it.
