GH: I get emails about special events that the characters attend?!

Question: such as a big event in July in Studio City, California. Is this worth the money for those of you that have gone? I see alot of the actors actually DO come and attend. Each appearance costs individually and it can add up with all the various characters! Is this money given to charity? I also see where when you get your picture taken with your fav character that "bid" is given to charity? Is it worth the $$$$ to meet these guys and fun and they are engaging to the fans or is it embarassing to be a middle age female seeming to be acting like a "star-struck teenager"????

I have attended the GH fan Event in studio city and had a great time- I picked only the actors I Really wanted to see-
( but I did luck out and was given a free ticket to one other event by someone that had an extra ticket)
Part of the money is given to their charity most of the time but take it from someone who has helped organize simular events- Hotel space costs $$$$$$ so they have to cover their costs as well- but the money from any Auction items Do go to the actor's charity.
Some events have food and beverages included but not always.. usually there is Q&A session with the actor (s) - some actors have other actors as 'guests'- like when I saw Nancy Grahn ( Alexis) she had "lucky"/ 'ric'/and 'faith'-- but also 'georgie' and 'brookelyn" dropped by ( this was about 3 yrs ago i think)-- then nancy went to Every table to meet the fans- gave autographs and posed for pics-later I got "lucky's & rics" as well.
There is usually an auction and or raffle tickets as well.

The good thing about the event in studio city is that it is much smaller than the Super Soap Weekend events- they usually have 200 or less tickets for the individual events and most actors often go above and beyond to make sure each fan has a chance for autograph and pic.
I didn't attend the Big luncheon with most of the actors there in one room- but my friends who did go said it was crowded and be ready for long lines for the Most popular actors- have cameras and photos/etc READY when it's your turn- and be Polite to the actors-most are very good with fans-- ( i will let you in on a 'secret'--Greg Vaughn ( Lucky) is one of the Best Huggers around :) )

I was 40 something when I went and believe me I wasn't alone ( heck both my friends that i went with were over 50 and we had a great time- there will be fans of all ages and backgrounds.
So i guess it comes down to how badly you want to go- it does help to attend with friends that way you have twice the fun .And I met all these friend From soap message boards.

I am glad I went- in fact I have gone to 3 GH related events and one GL fan weekend-I haven't regretted any of them.

i dont kno. it does sound like alot of fun. if i had the money and the time i would go. i would like to meet meet the actors playing spinelli, jason, lulu, sonny, carly, sam, lucky and luke. and if the money goes to charity then its all the more reason to go.

btw from ur avatar i would never guess u were middle aged. ur avatar looks a lil like liz / rebecca hearst from gh. very pretty.

If you can afford it I'd say it would be worth the $. It would be such fun to meet the stars and see how they really are.
