I hate to show my age, but yes, I remember them very well.
The Secret Storm ran for around 20 years and centered on the Ames family. Christina Crawford (the daughter of Joan Crawford) was one of the actors. I remember very clearly that Christina was hospitalized for some reason, and her mother took her place during her absence. The character was supposed to be around 30 or 40 years younger than Joan. I wish the VCR had been invented then. It was just horrible!
The Edge Of Night was a very different soap opera. It was more like a Perry Mason soap opera. There were many murders throughout it's run, and lots of trials. Almost every main character was put on trial at least once for a murder he or she did not commit. Mike Karr was the daytime - Perry Mason. I loved this show because it was so different.
I am familiar with the names of the shows but I never watched daytime soaps.

Yes, I remember them from the mid 1950's when I was in grade school, but never watched soaps. Good Lord, where did all the years go???

Yes. My mom used to watch them. I used to like to watch the darkness move across the TV screen on the Edge of Night.
Edge of Night was the first soap I watched. Lori Laughlin was on it. She has done a lot of stuff but mostly remembered for Full House I'm sure.

The Edge of Night was cancelled in the late 80's and I'm still made about that. I loved that show.

I remember both of those shows. My sister and I would watch the Edge of Night with our mother after school every day on our black and white tv.
i remember the Edge of Night, which used to come on channel 7 in New York at 4pm, way before Oprah, with that character who was like Erica named Raven.
