Question: Now overrated or dumb shows have stopped from doing new episodes. I think in a way it's a great thing as shows like desperate housewives & others where overrated or was dumb programming anyway.

Well, everyone has their own opinion as to what is overrated or dumb. Your Desperate Housewives example just doesn't fly though. It's still one of the top rated shows on all of television. Apparently all those people disagree about it being overrated. And besides, all of the "overated" and "dumb" programming will just come back after the strike is over...
Hollywood writers have been such a closed shop for years, I am hoping that, as with the last strike this is going to allow some lesser knowns to get in the door. Get some fresh blood and fresh ideas.
I totally beleive that The writers should get a share of the new media, but at the same time they need to open up the doors, not make it so hard for others to break into the industry.
Its been refreshing to keep the sludge and stench those perverts write off the air for a few weeks.
On the other hand, walking the picket line gives them plenty of time to cross pollinate each other and come up with even more sleazy ideas to pander to American couch potatoes.
Not me. I mean I guess it's good for those shows that suck, but it sucks for those shows that are good.
