Episode 4.01: The Beginning of the End (Hurley-centric)
Airdate: January 31, 2008

01/02 - [The first image we will see is a giant pile of fruit.] And we think it's on the island, because why wouldn't there be a giant pile of fruit on the island? We hear a rumbling, maybe it's the helicopter, but no. There's a bang! and the fruit explodes. A car comes piling through the fruit. It's a car chase. WHAT?! A car chase on the island?!? No, it's a car chase, FROM THE FUTURE. Ok, it's a flash-forward, but yeah. We see the cops chasing a car and eventually the car spins out of control, crashing into a building or something. The cops tell the driver to get out of the car and it's... Hurley! Why the hell was he running? And he's alive! He made it off the island! Source: Lost Spoilers
12/26 - With only 48 original episodes left until the final episode airs in 2010, this season truly is the beginning of the end with the promise of rescue at hand. Jack has radioed a freighter stationed somewhere off the island. But when it's disclosed that Charlie's dying warning was that these people may not be who they say they are, the castaways are split as to what to do. Jack is convinced that the freighter people are there to rescue them, while Locke is not. A division occurs among the survivors. Who is on the freighter? What was the significance of the flash-forward showing Jack and Kate off the island at some point in the future? What will the consequences be when the characters once again encounter Michael, who seemingly escaped the island after murdering two of the survivors? These are some of the questions "Lost" will explore during the action-packed fourth season. The band of friends, family, enemies and strangers must continue to work together against the cruel weather and harsh terrain if they want to stay alive. But as they have discovered during their 90-plus days on the island, danger and mystery loom behind every corner, and those they thought could be trusted may turn against them. Even heroes have secrets. Source: ABC

Episode 4.02: Confirmed Dead ("Not Penny's Boat" people-centric)
Airdate: February 7, 2008

09/12 - Lost was filming along a small streambed at Judd Trail, up Old Nuuanu Pali Road. A perfectly Lost-y jungle location. All the action was out of sight, but it was good to see some familiar faces on the crew. I can only tell you that there was a major confrontation (I could hear yelling echo through the forest), and can rattle of the list of actors I spotted. But I think you'll agree, this simple list alone is enough to get one's heart aflutter. This was a major shoot! Jorge Garcia (who was kind enough to stop and chat), Terry O'Quinn, Mira Furlan (in a nice checkerboard flannel-type shirt), Josh Holloway (who I believe was the aggressor), Michael Emerson (who appeared to have been on the losing end of a fight), Blake Bashoff and Emilie DeRavin. Of course there was at least one baby being carried around. Names overheard but not seen include Evangeline Lilly, "Carla," "Alex," "Karl," and "Fuzzy" (likely stunt pro Robert Moody). During my brief chat with Jorge, he again expressed a great deal of excitement and anticipation for the first few scripts of Season 4, comparing it to Season 1 in richness and mind-blowing moments. He also recalled meeting friends of mine yesterday at the "Santa Rosa" location, summarizing the shoot with a long, delicious, "Whew!" I think it's safe to say fans are no less excited about the return of Lost. My friend Darcy also visited the location later in the day and saw Matthew Fox in a scene with Evangeline and Jeremy Davies. Davies, playing a character named Daniel, was wearing a vest with a blinking light and made a call to someone named George, presumably or supposedly on Naomi's ship. Source: The Transmission
09/12 - Jack, Kate and Daniel are hiking uphill through the jungle. When they reach the top of a rise, Jack and Kate sit down to rest while Daniel, who's wearing a black vest with a flashing red light (probably identical to the one Naomi has on when she parachutes down to the island) pulls out some sort of communication device (again, possibly the same as Naomi's "phone") and says something like: "George, it's Daniel. Yeah, my instrumentation went crazy. Seemed like some kind of electrical storm. I'm here with some of the survivors." The rest of the dialog was inaudible, but Daniel and Jack seemed to be saying a lot to each other. The take was rather long, perhaps a full two minutes. Source: Lost Spoilers
Episode 4.03: The Economist (Sayid-centric)
Airdate: February 14, 2008

01/02 - [Episode 3] features a great ending and shooting and episode. Source: Lost Spoilers
10/29 - Carlos, a journalist, reveals: The 1st page of what I read was the production sheet, call sheet or something named like that - I can't remember precisely the right term. In this page, you can find the episode's number and name - in this case, #403 - The Economist, but of course it can be a provisory title. [...] That's where I also got Ken Leugn's character name (Miles) and the information confirming that Jeremy Davies will play Faraday, and Rebecca Mader, Charlotte. That's where I also got the name Elsa, Sayid's girlfriend in his flashforward... The next pages were scripts for episode's scenes. And that's the most important information I could find there: "The Economist" will have Sayid as a main character, and will show his after-island life. We'll be in Germany, and his girlfriend is called Elsa. [...] She seemed very intrigued about Sayid's kinda secret job. He refuses to talk about it, even to her... On the island, there will be a scene in which some losties will go to "Othersville" and will notice some noises. Kate (not Juliet!) will realize that the noise is coming from a house - pointed in the script as Juliet's house, and she'll go and check it. Then, she notices that the sound is coming from the closet; and finally finds Hurley stuck inside. Locke and Sayid are disagreeing about the best way to discover more about the "new visitors": while Sayid wants to go to the ship with Charlotte and appears that she'll get a boat to get back to their HQ, Locke prefers to trust in Ben, who said that he's got a spy on the boat. [...] Freckles will want to go to somewhere - not mentioned on the excerpt I read - but Sawyer, even not wanting her to go, won't stop her; but will also show her his disappointment...
