I am thrilled that they are back. I absolutely adore both Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert. I often feel that they dispense far more truth than any other mainstream news source. In fact, I hate it when people refer to these two shows as "fake news". Obviously, the news they are reporting is real. It is told in a comedic way, but the stories are taken from real events.
As far as writers vs. no writers, I believe that characters like George W., Hillary and Obama provide more than enough comedy. You can't write better comedy than what these people are giving us on a daily basis.
At the end of the day, I need The Daily Show and Colbert Report. I need to be informed without being depressed. I missed them both terribly and I'm glad they're back.
