Question: The story lines are writen many months in advance and so the are good up until spring or early summer.

Answers: The story lines are writen many months in advance and so the are good up until spring or early summer.

they are filmed a lot more in advanced them prime time and they have pages among pages of scripts. they have enough to take us at least thru January. now some have scabs writing....

What is a scab?

Anyone who performs screenwriting services of any kind for a struck company is considered a scab, whether they are a Guild member or not. Guild members who scab write will be punished, while non-members will be barred from future membership.

they use the same script from 1967 in all of them

Because it doesn't take professionals to write daytime dramas.

But seriously, apparently these writers are under more pressure of keeping their jobs, and it has even been suggested that they will "never be full members of the Writers Guild again".

they are filmed 3 months in advance...

they are not shot months in advance. they are very proud of the fact that they can be timely with current events, but the story lines are spelled out for a long time and they just do rewrites close to filming. when story lines take months to run their course, they could stretch the scripts they have for 4 months and most people would never know.

they make it up as they go along.

They had storylines written up to the new year, and now they're using scabs (non-guild writers who aren't involved with the strike) to fill in for the regular writers.
