Nobody ~ It seems they made that character just for him. But I saw him on a talk show once and he is just so down to earth and nice ....I love him on House .....he is great and such a brilliant mind in the character ....

I don't think anyone could play Dr. House as well as Hugh Laurie. I think he is perfect for the role, the same as Jesse is perfect for Chase and Jennifer is perfect for Cameron. I wonder though, if someone else was picked would we be saying he was the best for house? That is, until we see Hugh Laurie acting as him.
