Question: what does miss america or miss texas or miss (whatever state) do? do they have special jobs? im listening to my mom watch tv and shes watching something that has to do with miss america and im just wondering :)

They make public appearances, educate young people about their causes (ex. literacy, diabetes, etc.), meet/greet the public at openings of malls, and provide PR for the contests' sponsors.
