i`m free

you dont need much of a garden to raise a few chucks and the eggs are fan-tastic

I have been a veggie for 35 years, then got the urge not to be a few months ago ate lots of meat and now am feeling awful this prog is brill and says everything about good eating, though it would be nice not to eat those chicks...

Didn't watch but wished i had now just so i could give you a better answer lol bx

LOL, my hubby was saying the same thing! We've got a massive garden and were are actually thinking of getting some now but we'll have to make sure our dog doesn't get them!

I didn't see it,Chick but a neighbour did keep chickens in the back yard when I was a girl and the eggs were gorgeous. These were special I think - called Rhode Island Reds - I loved the name! - and it's certainly better than the battery farms.Mind you thse days there are urbam foxes so you'd have to have them cooped up at night and strong chicken wire for the run (and foxes can dig under too!
Anyhow - you have the fish, dog and cat already - are you trying to set up a city farm or something?! (ha ha).

I grew up with chickens (and pigs) Whipass but I deliberately didn't watch the programme as I thought there was going to be cruelty in it as there is in Jamie Oliver's. I'd love to have chickens - just imagine collecting those lovely fresh eggs everyday!

buy some chucks and grow scotch eggs.lol

We watched it last night and it was so sad.

There's another one on tonight at 9pm and on Friday too.

I think I'm gonna buy free range from now on.

I'd like a couple of hens for eggs, but I wouldn't be able to kill one.

I did not watch it as I watched Wire In the Blood but whipass how are you going to cope with chickens with your children dog, cat and soon to be twin boys are you super woman?

I would too...but in my Cat outfit..I think I would scare the cr@p out of them....

£6 pound for a chicken don't think so, i'll abstain. In fact i've never seen 2 chicken for £5 like he showed. If i do buy a chicken i go to aldi where i can buy a fair size clucker for £2 ,whip off the tit's and soup the rest as legs aren't worth eating any unless roasted. That 2 nights food at a quid a night.

Can't wait to see the next show where Hugh crys! lol

No seriously I watched it, it certainly makes you think about where you chicken comes from.

omg i felt so sorry for the little baby chickens that were in that shed. and then he had to kill them!! omg it was awful. And he picked that one up and it was like hopping up his arm and it looked so sweet. awhhh i would have taken them all home haha
