On the show Home Improvement, why is Wilsons mouth always covered up and hidden !

Question: that was what they did to make the show unique. it kept you interested because you always scrutinized it to try to figure out who he was. would the camera slip/ would they make a mistake?

you always had that thought in the back of your mind, tonite they may reveal wilson!

and if they din't then you always got a laff out of how they managed to hide his face, coffee cup, hockey stick, tree..

That's just something they did on the show. Wilson's entire face was never revealed on the show.

It wasn't.

That became a running gag.

because noones supposed to ever see wilsons whole face lol duh

So you dont recognise him

he has a hair lip.

Perhaps he has a hideous welt/wart on his chin... :-P

Wilson's face was finally revealed in the finale episode. "Wilson's entire face was finally revealed when the cast took their bow at the end of the series finale." (see below)

You can read more about Earl Hindman at http://bventertainment.go.com/tv/touchst...

What was used to hide his face? Check out http://bventertainment.go.com/tv/touchst...

Why was his face partially screened? There is no direct explanation other than this one offered at the Touchstone site: "After Tim Allen came up with the idea of having a neighbor shown only from the nose up, the directors had to think of clever new ways to hide Wilson (Earl Hindman) whenever he was in a scene. During the show's 201 episodes, Wilson has been hidden by some pretty funny things."

That was part of the fun. You only were able to see part of his face.

My guess is that they started that joke with what can you see of your neighboor when you look over a tall fence and then they just took that joke and stretched it through the course of the show.

very bad breath

Its a running gag
