Am I wrong to like BBC1's The One and Only?!

Question: I really didn't want to like it but got hooked. Some of the decisions I personally thought were wrong like Robbie and Rod and there were good ones, Lionel and Diana. What do you think?

I saw a clip on 'something for the weekend', the Madonna's were amusing. I love the way people seem to transform their whole life around impressionism, they really believe they are that celebrity.

If you enjoy it watch it.

Of course you're not wrong if you like tribute artistes and this type of competition. It was on in the background in our house this time, so haven't made up my mind yet

Why are you even asking? If you like it, then you like it. You do not need to justify your choices to anyone but yourself, as long as your choices are not involving another person's free will. Everyone is different, and an individual, no two people are going to have the EXACT same opinion on any one thing. If you find the show enjoyable, then sit back, enjoy, and don't worry about what anyone else thinks. Smile, hon.

Yes. even the people in the advert for it were better

i thought it was quitegood tv.
Agree about robbie and rod though.

Yes. It's very wrong indeed.

nothing wrong with it - its up to you

i hate these type of programs and never watch them. but i'm like you, it was on, so i watched it this week and agree about the robbie and rod. i'll probably watch it again cos my husband watched it too.

edit: yes, i was a bit sad for the tall cher that didn't get picked, she must've been gutted.

none of them sound or even look like them! its so stupid!

Personally I would rather pierce my tongue with a cocktail stick but if you like it then watch what you like.

lol
in a word
YES
lol

I watched it and found it to be the most amateurish programme I have ever seen. The look and sound alikes were pretty dire in all departments. The surroundings were like a slum area. The interviews were done in a room full of old cartons and papers over the floor or just outside the rather tatty door to the stage. The theatre was like a little box and the backing, ONE piano, though played well was just too little. The audience made up of friends and family, I suppose no one else could be forced to turn up and poor old Graham Norton who normally has some pretty funny quips and remarks, had nothing much to do and added to that looked like a refugee in his tatty looking T shirt under his jacket. If Graham Norton was just starting out and looking for the big break, this programme would have set him back 10 years. A truly awful offering for a Saturday evening. Talk about TV on the cheap, this was it.

I have to agree with you Minki, I thought it was quite good and like you I think the judging panel made good decisions and bad decisions on the impersonators that they put through to the final.

I liked Lionel but whether anybody can see past his colour when it comes to performing in Vegas if he gets that far is a different story. Diana was very good, I too think they made the wrong choice for Rod Stewart and I am undecided when it came to Robbie.

I just hope the viewers make the right choice on who to vote in for with their choices Tina/????/Britney and Cliff/Freddie/Tom.

Personally I like Britney for the girls and Freddie for the boys, but I guess we will see on Saturday.

Best of luck to everyone who got through that's what I say.

There's nothing wrong in acknowledging it is mindless pap, and watching anyway because it entertains you.

There's something wrong with NOT recognising it as mindless pap and taking it too seriously (ie moaning about how it is "fixed" etc).
