The 'are you smarter than a 5th grader' Host?!

Question: I am a south-african and I was watching this program a few hours ago and started thinking, while listening to that host's voice and particular jokes....

What 'type' of american is he ? If this isn't offencive.... is he like a 'hill billy' type person ? Again, I know nothing of the many american cultures. As I'm sure many wouldn't know much about Sout-african's. Haha!

Thanks!

His name is Jeff Foxworthy. He is a comedian and had a tv show called Blue Collar Tv. He had many "red neck" jokes that make fun of mainly poor people from the south, because he was one.

Hes part of that red-neck group with Larry-the-cable-guy. Yes he is a bit of a hill-billy.

yeah he is a hillbilly, or redneck, similar, to be nice we yankees call them southerners.

I don't know much about that host either, but he is not a "hill billy" type. The term "hill billy" usually refers to someone from a mountain area, especially Arkansas, that is not highly educated.

Jeff Foxworthy has made millions and millions. He sells oout wherever he plays. He has sold countless DVD's and CD's...If that isn't smart...explain to me what is smart.

He is a southerner from Atlanta, Georgia. The term hill-billy comes from the rural mountian people of West Virginia.
