Firefly by Joss Whedon! Best ever! It takes just about two episodes to be hooked.
M*A*S*H was the best show in TV history for a number of reasons. First, its final episode was watched by 60% of households in America. That is a staggering number. In addition, it did something no other television show did before (or probably will do again): It transformed from a sitcom to a domestic comedy (domcom) to ultimately a drama. The ability to achieve that feat while becoming more popular is amazing. There is no other show that has been able to transcend all three genres.
Its characters and scripts were well thought out and written extremely well. Due to all of this, the show remains popular to this day and was the best show in television history.
