Nobody knows when the writers strike will end. It all depends on when the producers/networks meet the writers demands. Right now, talks have even been shut down pretty much until February. It could be a very long time before new episodes of Heroes starts again, but House has two or three new episodes coming up. One of which airs after the Super Bowl.
