Chris is back because Jack had to withdraw for an infection he has on his face. Because of his HIV, he has a very weak immune system, and the infection was taking over. The staph infection is very contagious and he did not want to spread it to the other contestants. Chris was eliminated in the previous episode, so he was asked to come back in Jack's place.

jack had to leave the show because he contracted a staph infection on his face and had to receive immediate medical treatment. he said that he has gotten two staph infections before and the treatment is intense. he also happens to be hiv positive so that could make the infection worse if not properly treated.
since jack left unexpectedly, they brought chris back. he was the last to be eliminated.
