Answers: Chocolate Factory`?...I`m confused, Its on ITV1 as I type.

Felicity Dahl, who is his widow and takes handling the estate very, very seriously and who had a lot of conditions in her contract with Warners, who is the director, who is the writer, who's gonna play Wonka, all the other cast, she called me up -- she saw it a few days ago and she called me up and she is thrilled by it, and she is really the voice of Roald. Um, it is my understanding that he wasn't, although he got a credit for some of the writing, a shared credit on the first film, that he wasn't pleased with it, that they'd changed the title to Willy Wonka, instead of Charlie, they made it into a musical where one character sings to another, and there were a lot of things I think that he felt were liberties taken away from what he originally intended when he wrote the book

Hope this was helpful ~~~

Maybe cause the gene wilder was a star and wanted more ppl to see it, just my guess.

somthing to do with racism, the original oompa loompas was little black men read the book

Because they made Willy Wonka the star in the movies- Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp

Baby (above) is probably right.

The book was called Charlie and ... The Gene Wilder film changed it to Willie Wonka - possibly because the Wonker character was more interesting than Charlie who's a bit passive. An Wilder did kick some life into the film.

Tim Burton changed it back to Charlie and.... for his recent film. Possibly to show his was going to be different from the Wilder version and to attract fans of the book.

I haven't seen the new version, is it better than the old?
Another question for you.
