Answers: what exactly are they striking about, anyway? i really miss my show SUPERNATURAL!! :(

2 key Issues

1. Currently the writers get ZERO $$ from Offical Downloads at network/Itunes--while the production co.s/networks sell ads on those sites thus making $$$ off the writer's work. They consider such downloads as "promotiona" and therefore not subject to royalities for the writers-- the writers are asking 2 1/2 CENTS per download.

2. The writers want the $$ from dvd sales to increase to 4 CENTS per dvd sold.

TVGuide.com has lots of info on the strike

yes they are still on strike, The strike is against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), a trade organization representing the interests of American film and television producers. Over 12,000 writers joined the strike. As of January 5, 2008, the current strike has lasted 8 weeks and 5 days. The last such strike in 1988 lasted 21 weeks and 6 days, costing the American entertainment industry an estimated 500 million dollars.
